ABOUT US

ADAPTABLE

From Aurora filled skies in Iceland and Western Canada, the galactic core blazing in the California night sky, and vibrant Autumn colors in the South Eastern United States, our time-lapse collection is multi-faceted.

ULTRA-LIGHT

Our modular 3-axis motion control system might very well offer the most portable and light-weight solution in the world. Repeatable moves in the wilderness with ease.

ADVANCED STUDIO TECHNIQUES

Our multi-axis Dragon Frame stop-motion and time-lapse system offers unlimited flexibility in the studio and beyond. This is the rig for scientific macro work and product shots. Ready to control up to 11-axes and has custom support for advanced focus-stacking techniques.

WE MAKE VISUAL.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

Featuring an array of scenes from the North American landscape, EYE OF THE BEHOLDER is a short film that encourages the viewer to shed previous conceptions and ideas about the world, and to return to a place of wonderment and awe.

MOUNTAINS IN MOTION

An award-winning short film documenting the life of the alpine landscape through time-lapse photography. Hours and even months of change lapses in a matter of seconds, providing the viewer with a rare insight into the ever-changing nature of the landscape. Weaving throughout the film are reflections of an early mountaineer. This 100% human-powered film combines advanced time-lapse photography with an original story and musical score to bring the landscape center-stage.

ICELANDIA

Iceland is a land of many geological wonders. In celebration of Doug and Karen Urquhart's 3-year wedding anniversary, they traveled to Iceland for two weeks of relaxation and exploration together. Doug documented parts of the trip with time-lapse photography in an attempt to share their experiences with others. The midnight sun had passed (as well as the tourist high season) and the nights were rapidly becoming longer as we transitioned into the month of September. The longer nights offered a stunning Aurora show over the lesser traveled shore of Jökulsárlón.

NEVER SATISFIED

GIZMODO Time-Lapse Challenge, 1st Place. We selected a location in NW Atlanta at an abandoned warehouse to document our close friend, NEVER, painting. The vast sea of tires offered us a unique visual perspective. To help portray the passing time during the day via visible light beams, we hiked into the location with a 1k generator and hazer. The visible light created by the hazer combined with the constantly changing wind flow through the space really brought the location to life.

AUSTRALIAN TREE FERN

As a side-project for April 2011 we chose to document the grandeur of a growing tree fern. Using two Canon D-SLRs, a motion control time-lapse dolly, custom motion control focus control (BETA), fluorescent lights, and our green thumbs we captured 17 days of the growing fern. Each shot represents 24-48 hours of growth.

EXPERIMENTAL EXPLORATION

MULTI-PASS COMPOSITING

Repeatable motion-control camera movement and multiple-expose pass compositing offers infinite possibilities. With this proof of concept shot, we created a levitation scene using wires and rigging. No CG.

CGI COMPOSITING

For this proof of concept visual, we shot a motion control HDR time-lapse inside an abandoned prison. Once back at the studio, we used SynthEyes to 3D track the scene so we could composite some dynamic CGI elements we created in Cinema4D. The HDR pass was used during final compositing within After Effects to simulate reactive environment lighting as the CGI orb passes through the environment.

TEMPORAL ALIASING

Repeatable motion-control camera movement paired with a stroboscopic effect to "freeze" moving water with time-lapse photography techniques. This technique is incredibly complex, but rewarding in the end.

LET'S CREATE SOMETHING AMAZING TOGETHER.

We're always expanding our time-lapse skills and offerings so we're ready to help increase the value of your next production. We're located in the heart of the South-- Atlanta, Georgia but available to travel worldwide. We got you covered for all your time-lapse motion control and multi-month, time-lapse needs. Let's talk.
